Are you an Asianovela fanatic?
July 30, 2007 at 5:28 am | In Uncategorized | 12 CommentsThe word Asianovela comes from the words “Asia” or “Asian” and “Novela” from the word “Telenovela”. This term refers to Asian-produced telenovelas.
Asianovelas have been always top-rating in the Philippine television. Filipinos adore watching “small-eyed” actors and actresses on TV. Have you ever stopped for awhile and wondered why such TV shows always ’click’ in the Philippines?
I’ve read an article on a daily newspaper in Iloilo about it and I kinda agree with it. Most of our teleserye and soap operas are heavy on drama and have almost the same plot. So when the Asianovelas invaded the country with its comedic-flavor and very handsome and pretty stars, the Filipinos automatically loved them. Some even requested for replays for the Asian series, concerts and visits of the stars of their favorite Asianovelas. Filipinos even follow their hairstyles, the way they dress and their favorite expressions like “Aja!”.
So to cut it short, Filipinos love entertainment. They need and want something that would make them laugh and end up smiling at the end of the day. Incidentally, these asianovelas provided them that kind of entertainment and so they eventually loved and adored them. And that includes me.
Here are some of the asianovelas I was fond of:
I know some of you might be thinking that this kind of post is already late but an asianovela I’m watching is about to end this week and I realized that I haven’t made any posts about such topic, so here it is. Anyway, I know there are fanatics too out there so which of these shows made your heart go wild? Aminin….. ![]()
Should I feel guilty?
July 14, 2007 at 11:11 am | In Uncategorized | 3 CommentsThe whole week of this week, I’ve been ranting against the so-called “human leeches” in our office. I and my officemates who share the same sentiments have been talking in small groups and our favorite topics are always the bad attributes and actions of the leeches. I’m beginning to wonder whether we are going over the limitations already.
We don’t usually do this and we originally have no hatred against them before but since we found out of their “true colors” this past week and since we felt that we have been betrayed, we can’t just shut our mouths.
Our plans of resigning are so big deal for them. Just when did we lose our right to speak out, say NO to them, and resign and move on? I was never a “sunod-sunuran” to anyone and especially not to them.
Grow up guys!
Human Leeches….

All leech species are carnivorous. Some are predatory, feeding on a variety of invertebrates such as worms, snails, insect larvae, crustaceans, while a very few are haemophagic parasitic blood-sucking leeches, feeding on the blood of vertebrates such as amphibians, reptiles, waterfowl, fish, and mammals (including humans). The most important predators of leeches are fish, aquatic insects, crayfish and other leeches specialized for predation on leeches.
Haemophagic leeches attach to their hosts and remain there until they become full, at which point they fall off to digest. Leeches’ bodies are composed of 34 segments. They all have an anterior (oral) sucker formed from the first six segments of their body, which is used to connect to a host for feeding, and can also release an anesthetic to prevent the host from noticing the leech. They use a combination of mucus and suction (caused by concentric muscles in those six segments) to stay attached and secrete an anti-clotting enzyme into the host’s blood stream.
Some species of leech will nurture their young, providing food, transport, and protection, which is unusual behavior in an invertebrate.
So why am I blogging about leeches? Just to emphasize that HUMAN LEECHES also exist and I just identified some in my environment. I’m glad I discovered them already but it’s still kinda too late. I so hate them.
It’s finally done…
June 29, 2007 at 9:50 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsI finally finished the website I was talking about in my previous post. Since my boss is still out of the country, I’m still waiting for his feedback on it. But whether he likes it or not, I’m still very happy and satisfied that I was able to finish it with of course the help of my expert friends.
I’ve never thought I would be able to make a website but I did it. Joomla made it easy for me.
