My cousin…a hunk?

My cousin is a hunk! haha.. :D

My cousin just won Kawasaki Hunk 2008 last Sunday. The pageant was held at Market Market and my sister and I were right in front of the stage squatting just to watch and support him.

Actually, when the contestants walked down the aisle, most of them are good-looking and well-built.  And I was thinking I hope my cousin wins because based on the looks, the competition was a little tough. Then the Question & Answer came and BOOM! My cousin had it in the bag. His answer was far better than the answers of the other contestants and I am so damn proud of him. Congratulations to my hunk cousin! I am so proud of you Dan! :D

Nothing beats a holiday with the family… :D

This is post is quite late already but it is still worth it. I have concluded that no matter where or how you spend christmas and new year as long as you spend it with your family, it will still be the best ones you will ever have.

I was not able to spend the holidays at home but since my parents came to Manila to spend it with me and my sister, it was still one of the best ones I ever had. This year was the simplest celebration we ever had. We spent Christmas eve with relatives in Bulacan and then we were on our own on Christmas day, which we spent strolling and dinner at Italiannis. Then  during the eve of New Years day, we had dinner at North Park, near Glorietta. Afterwards, we went to the New Year Countdown in Makati Ave. After a few hours of enjoying the live music of Pinoy bands, we went back to my Tita’s unit at Greenbelt Parkplace (where we stayed while my parents were here), ordered pizza, opened a bottle of wine, and continued our New Year celebration.  :D

It was so much fun that I did not want it to end. I was feeling so homesick that I actually wanted to go home with them and never come back.  I miss them already. But still, at least we had a great holiday. Nobody spent it in tears. I so love my family. :)

My sister just gave birth to a very healthy baby boy. It’s a pity we can’t see him right away because they’re in the states. We still have to wait for a year or 2 years before we can enjoy playing with him. But still, the whole family are very much happy and excited.

Welcome to the family Baby Aiden!!! We love you!!! :)

voting for the first time…

May 14, 2007 at 7:36 am | In my family... | No Comments

It’s Election Day today and I’m proud to say that I voted for the first time. :)

It was suppose to be my 2nd time already but last 2004 I was not able to vote because I was in Los Baños, Laguna taking my practicum in theater. At around 9:00 in the morning, my parents and I went to the nearest elementary school to practice our rights to vote.

I’m not in the same precinct with my parents because of some occurrence, I have a different address in my records. Instead of Osita Subd., I suddenly became a resident of Depita Subd. So my father helped me in finding my precinct first before we all went in to vote. I was kinda fast because I already had a prepared list before coming to the school.

One thing I have observed, which also amazes me is seeing old people and disabled people trying their best to vote. I hope people who are not physically disabled would realize how important their votes are. Learn from the grannies and the disabled ones.

Now that the voting is done, the whole Dela Cruz and Bona clans are starting to get nervous. It’s not the first time that relatives are running for a public office but it’s the first time that one of them has finally taken 1 step higher and ran for a one-on-one position. Yes, my aunt is running for Vice-Mayor and that makes us nervous. I so hope she wins…and my uncle too….Go Bona! Go Bona! Go! :)

Happy Birthday Big Sis..:-)

27 years ago my Mom gave birth to her eldest daughter named “Enya”, my Ate. At an early age of 13, my sister was already studying far from our house. We live at Koronadal City, South Cotabato and she studied high school in PSHS in Davao City. After graduation, she enrolled in UP Diliman. So for about 6 or 7 years, we rarely see each other until she transferred university and lived in Koronadal with us.

Once she expressed her disappointment towards me. She said I’m not that close to her and asked why i can’t be a sweet little sister to her. She thought that maybe it’s because she was not with me when I was growing up. That thought made me pause.

Honestly, I can’t deny that it might be a reason for my not being physically sweet to her. But truthfully, I love my Ate so much. I hate it when she gets mad at me..I hate it when we fight…and most of all, I hate it when she thought I didn’t love her. But all of these are already part of the past. We already talked about it. I now know where I’ve gone wrong and I’m now trying to make up with her.

My family is my life. They may not feel it all the time. I may be a “suwail na anak at kapatid” sometimes. But everyone who knows me know that they are my most precious treasures.
